Turned all the way up to Eleven

So, there we go. On Sunday I finally pushed a major update to the site. No doubt many of you will already have noticed some of the changes, but you've probably not seen them all. Here's a quick run-down of some of the things that have changed:

This one goes to eleven...

It's months since I last wrote a blog entry on here, and for that I apologise. Don't take my silence for inaction though, there's been a lot going on in development since the last time I wrote. So much has been going on in fact that we're almost ready for a new release of the site!

Levels, points and how to get them...

Well, it's been an interesting month. The Ten Word Flash Badge was released, as a site we reached 5000 reviews, and I personally hit 600. As well as those achievements though, the eagle eyed amongst you will have noticed that up by your username at the top right of the site is a little bit of text that says what level you're at and how many points you currently have.

I can has API?

It's official - I've finally released a basic alpha version of a public API for TheTenWordReview.com. Right now it's quite a simple (but powerful) thing that lets you pull out lists of reviews in either JSON, serialised PHP or RSS format. Spider-man 3

I know some of you will be going to see Spider-Man 3 this weekend, so why not stop by The Ten Word Review afterwards and let us all know what you thought of it? Seen any other good films lately? You should review them too!

So - Who Won What?

It's a month now since I announced that I was running three competitions here on the site, and I'm sure you'll all be glad that the winners are about to be announced. So, without further ado, here goes...

Everything's Still to Play For

There might only be five more days to go this month, but that still gives you time to win yourself an iPod Shuffle or Ten DVDs. If you've been saving up a fantastic review, now would be the time to write it! Likewise, if you've seen a review you love, please go and rate it so that it stands a chance of winning. Don't forget - every time you do this you give yourself another chance to win. Good luck!

Mothers Day

And now, the triumvirate of Red Nose Day, St. Patrick's Day and Mothers Day (here in the UK) draws to a close. So, how does Mothers Day make you feel?
